1. The Southern most point

We have all seen the classic picture of the colorfully striped anchor buoy that sits at the southernmost point of the USA.

Head south for another 90 miles and you will set foot in Cuba.

A classic destination that hundreds of people pose next to yearly has easily become one of the most photographed places in Key West. 

If you are in Key West, it is a must-do. The southernmost point buoy can not be missed.

As you approach the landmark you will see houses that have been in competition for decades.

At the corner of South and whitehead, you will find the classic icon. The line can get long as the day progresses so it is best to arrive early and capture that special moment that will bring a smile to your face for years to come.

Visiting the Hemingway House in Key West is a unique and fascinating experience for literature enthusiasts and history buffs.

Ernest Hemingway lived and worked in this house during the 1930s.

It is a beautifully preserved example of tropical architecture and features original furnishings, decor, and artwork.

Highlights of the Hemingway House include the lush gardens, the swimming pool, and the famous six-toed cats that roam the property. The cats are a reason to visit the house all on their own.

It is part of a small island chain west of Key West in the Gulf of Mexico. The ticket price includes breakfast, lunch, snorkeling equipment, 45-60 min tour of Fort Jefferson and entrance fees to the park.

Fort Jefferson “Guardian of the Gulf” was a stronghold for ships patrolling the Gulf and Straits of Florida protecting the busy shipping lanes.

This is a protected area and is home to many tropical fish, queen conch and a variety of coral.
